PEMS June 2026

June 25, 2026

What’s the hardest part of stepping into a leadership role in transit?

Usually, it’s not the technical side of the job. It’s the people side: giving feedback, navigating conflict, building trust, and helping teams succeed.

That’s exactly what this month’s Pathway to Effective Management and Supervision (PEMS) cohort explored. This month’s class brought together transit professionals from agencies including the Centro – Central New York Regional Transportation Authority, Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation, Pierce Transit, Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, Victor Valley Transit, Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, and others from across the country. From coaching conversations and communication strategies to real-world conflict-resolution scenarios, attendees gained practical tools they can use immediately in their organizations.

A special thank you to instructor Gina Willoughby for leading another engaging and impactful session, and to everyone who showed up ready to learn, share experiences, and strengthen their leadership skills.
